I have to admit, I need some guts to deal with that, because my bad memory about the extractor in the kitchen. Anyway, I did it after 2 years neglecting the situation.
The previous home owner nicely left us some user manual, however, I do not want to bug my hubby, he had enough files to look for. So, go back to my trustworthy and start with my keywords search. First of all, like a lot of people, I had no clues what this THING called, but I quickly find my answer by typing "Ikea", "kitchen", "appliance". Next is to figure if I need to buy a new filter, and luckily I am under impression it could be washed by the dish washer (YEAH!!!!!!!). Next how to take the filter down...???
It was not so hard, just push the hood on the surface of the filter.
GEEEE...Needless to say I was really pleased how easy this clean process could be done, and was done it right.
Next task, is to change the light bulb.
To open the case, I was trying the knife to hope to open the edge of the case, and immediately I know it is not smart at all to try it. And all the sudden, I realized, after taking off the filter, I could go from the gap of
where the filter was and reach from the back of the light bulb cover and push the case down. It is not too
hard to push as long as you find the right spot to give the pressure.
But finding the right light bulb...that is another task!
And it was much harder to do it by searching the internet. It always leads you to the Ikea light bulb which is not right, obviously. And I was under impression, things from Ikea, not always US standard and it could be problem. In the end, I took the bulb and tried my luck at Lowe's. Eventually I found one with 15 W, oh well,
at least it gives me a place (the package) to start with.
I feel I did something big today...ha, by cleaning up the extractor hoody
